The Board of Mayor and Aldermen consists of five members, elected on a nonpartisan basis. Positions for aldermen are by wards while the mayor's position is at-large.  Each term of office is for two years and the terms for the aldermen are staggered.  The  board (aldermen and mayor) represents the interests of the Town as a whole. Citizen input is essential for the board to set general policy directions for the Town. Citizen advisory committees are appointed by the board for increasing citizen input.
