The responsibilities of the Planning Department include: Review of and recommendations concerning site plans, subdivision plats, alley vacating requests, annexation proposals, rezoning requests, and other development-related issues. Development of proposed changes to the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Regulations, and related ordinances. Periodic updating of the comprehensive plan (Population and Economy Study; Major Street and Road Plan; Land Use Plan; Community Facilities Plan; and Open Space and Recreation Plan). Providing staff for the Greeneville Regional Planning Commission and Greeneville Historic Zoning Commission. Most importantly, the Town Planner is available for call and walk-in traffic, to answer questions about development-related issues, and to inform citizens and developers about the development process in Greeneville. |
