Public Works  -Solid Waste/Appliance Pick-Up

Residential Waste
The Town of Greeneville collects solid waste from residential properties located within the town limits.  Garbage is collected curbside and delivered to the landfill located here in Greene County.  Brush and tree limbs are collected separately from garbage and chipped into mulch.  Appliances are also collected separately and shipped to a recycler.  Recyclables are collected at our drop off area at the Landfill/Demolition Site on 1555 Old Stage Road where they are processed and marketed to businesses that use these materials to make new products.

Residential Collection Schedule
Residential solid waste is collected once a week.  Trash may be set out in metal or plastic cans or heavy gauge plastic bags. There is no limit to the number of cans or bags that a resident can set out for collection. To find out your collection day, call the Public Works office at 423-638-6152.
